Its been a while since our last newsletter. For way to many reasons ( mainly workload and health issues ) we had not done a new blogpost in quite some time.
Now, back at full strength, lets get going with the latest updates from Alicante and the Costa Blanca…
…and allow me to say: A lot of things happened since our last blogpost.
My Tip for your Next Visit to Alicante
As you might imagine it has been quite a nice “run-around” over the past months just to visit all places in the new compass section, take pictures, grab information about admission prices and opening hours. It is really amazing how much I learned about Alicante in those past weeks – and that’s despite that we have been living here now for more than 10 years and I thought “I have seen it all” 😯 .
Among those many places, churches and museums I visited – the Alicante Hogueras Museum surprised me the most.
The Alicante Hogueras de San Juan Bonfire Museum
A really impressive museum in the center of Alicante, bringing you the ins-and-outs of Alicante’s most important festivities during the year. Its all about the Hogueras Bonfire festivities starting from 1928 until nowadays.
“So what … its probably just another boring museum” … you might think. Well, you got it wrong. ( and I admit I did also not have a clue before I went there ).
The Hogueras museum is a fantastic place full of miniatures and figures, countless displays of impressive and detailed done sculptures. A “Must Visit” museum – Especially if you are with Kids! They will love it.
And since admission to the museum is free, you can just pop by for an hour or so, if you want to get a break from a hectic and hot summer shopping tour in Alicante.
So, please mark it on your map – the next time when you are around in Alicante, visit the Hogueras museum.
Our New Spain Travel Tips Website
We have been playing with the idea of a Spain travel website for quite some time now, but it was not up to some weeks ago when it finally came to life. Our new additonal Spain Travel Tips website at www.spaintraveltips.com is now live.
The idea of this new website came when I sat here answering some email questions from readers of our main Alicante-Spain.com site. So often we have been asked questions about traveling to other places around Spain, or how to get to Madrid or Barcelona for a daytrip while on holidays around the Costa Blanca. There is also always a lot of questions regarding “how to drive/fly/ship around Spain” in general. This, together with me reading certain Spain information blogs every week, brought up the idea of our new site SpainTravelTips.com .
Whenever we find an interesting article or blogpost about traveling in Spain, we will post it on the site. This also includes a variety of photos and videos for the Spain tourist which we find on the web. The SpainTravelTips.com website is much like a ” news-hub ” for all of you who might want to discover interesting places to go to, the next time when you travel to our beautiful sunny country.
I also add airline news ( especially Ryanair news, as this is what you asked for the most in the past ), so you will get a good cross section on whats going on as far as flights and transport to Spain is concerned.
To sum it up, our new Spain Travel Tips site is meant to give a good cross section on news and sightseeing ideas for your next Spain holiday. Please have a look and check it out here.
