Alicante-Spain.com Newsletter No.11 - 15. December 2005 Current subscribers: 512 Dear Alicante and Costa Blanca Fan, within two weeks you are now receiving our second newsletter from San Juan. As we told you in our last one, we are working heavily on the alicante-spain.com website and would like to keep you updated on new articles and changes. As you are receiving this, it is our first time that we send out the newsletter with our new ezine service provider aweber. We explained this in our last newsletter and it turns out to have been a very good thing to move to this far more stable email delivery system. So lets go, here the latest from Alicante and the Costa Blanca with a slight CHRISTMAS TOUCH! Table of contents:
New Videos on Alicante When we started putting together some videos about Benidorm and Alicante's castle last months we had no idea on how well they where received. Thanks for your comments. I guess sometimes watching a 2 minute video about the Costa Blanca reminds most of you about your last summer vacation. Great that you liked it. We completed an additional video, with impressions of the city of Alicante. Perhaps just right for a "90 seconds mini vacation" Please find the new video here: http://www.alicante-spain.com/video/alicante-video.html
Christmas around the Costa Blanca Living all year at the Costa Blanca with its current temperatures of around 15°, it also make the winter and Christmas feel a lot different. I sometimes miss a bit these cold snowy winter days (especially because I am originally from southern Germany). Therefore we thought we show you some of the winter parts of the Costa Blanca. So here are two very nice aspects of Christmas around Alicante. Nativity Scene Museum in Alicante The first is a lovely nativity scene museum in Alicante, and i bet you would never ever have thought of something like this here at the spanish coast. But nativity scene building has a very very long tradition and the museum is just a wonderful display of hundreds of them from around the world. Entire article and photos here: http://www.alicante-spain.com/christmas-museum.html
The World Capital of Turron - Jijona / Xixona On your last visit here in Spain you may have seen it. The special almond sweet called turron. Its mostly sold during Christmas time and THE number one Christmas pastry. And one city is famous for it all around Spain - Jijona. So I went there today, had a look around and visited the Turron Museum in Jijona. Could be a nice place to visit for your next vacation. Here is the report with pictures: http://www.alicante-spain.com/jijona-xixona.html
Well, this has been our last newsletter for this year. But be assured, we will keep in touch (if you want) and get you more tour tips from around the Costa Blanca next year. To all of you Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!
All the best and Muchos Saludos from San Juan, Alicante,
Hubert
PS: Currently, 9 °C and dark - because it is 19h at night
