Dear Alicante and Costa Blanca Fan,

At this cold time of the year, we would like to "warm you up" a bit with a little surprise. Imagine you are all sitting in your heated houses, looking out to the cold snow (as most readers from the UK, Germany and the US might do right now), we thought we send you some WARM SUMMER IMPRESSIONS from the Costa Blanca.

This months we started incorporating short videos on cities and sightseeing attractions around Benidorm and the Costa Blanca. We hope you will enjoy these. In addition, we will move to a new newsletter server as we had too much trouble sending out our ezine in the past months. Please read the information regarding this issue.

And finally, an update to our Alicante Flights Page, thanks to the email from our reader Jonathan.

New Videos on Alicante Castle and Benidorm on Alicante-Spain.com

It all started with this question:

How can we show more about Alicante and the Costa Blanca on the website?

Photos are nice, but a video would be much better. We thought about it for many many months, especially how to incorporate videos technically, so you can watch them only. And finally we decided that it is time to put the effort in and get videos on our website.

This months we start with two little "movies" about the castle of Alicante and the city of Benidorm. Both videos should only give you some impressions on the area and perhaps spark an idea to visit these places on your next Costa Blanca Holiday (if you have not already done so).

Videos on the Web is still having some restrictions, so we could not make them as large as we want, as it would have take too much time do "download" for you. They will also be shown much faster if you are on a high speed internet connection (DSL etc.). We hope that one day in the future, the internet will be "super-mega-high-speed" for all of us, so we can expand these videos even more.

We use a format called FLASH 8 to display them directly on the website. In addition you will see each video also available in WMV (Windows Media Player) and mp4 (Apple Quicktime).

Website upgrade - Change of Newsletter Provider

Over the past months we had serious trouble getting this newsletter out to all of our subscribers. Without going into detail too much, it had to do with using our own newsletter software on our own (slow) servers. The software worked very well back than, when we had very few subscribers, but now with more than 1400 people expecting to get this ezine in time, we just can not get the stability we need. We will therefore move to an external specialized newsletter server (called aweber) who can cope with the increasing load.

Within this week, we will switch to the new servers and you will get a welcome email message from our new server. Please make sure you confirm this welcome message with a click in order to be subscribed to the newsletter.

If all works well, you will get your next Alicante Spain Newsletter - around Christmas!

Alicante Flight Page Updated
