Alicante-Spain.com Newsletter

Dear Alicante and Costa Blanca Fan,

always a bit special as at this time of the year in in Alicante its more quiet than the rest of the year. The weather is down to 10° to 15° during the day - and yes, we even get a rainy day once in a while.

With most of the readers of this newsletter being from Europe and North America, we have to admit that we still feel very fortunate living here under the spanish sun.

So what can we do to uplift all of you ?

Let's just take a look at two of the new web pages we created over the past weeks. You might enjoy the section about the town of el Campello and especially the report on the city of Elche. Or wouldn't you like to see a city with more than 300 000 palm trees ?

We where also updating some of the transport and timetable information on the Alicante to Benidorm and Denia page, for those of you who plan some holiday trip soon.

Additionally the entire Alicante Hotel section got updated. I even went to the famous Sidi 5-star Hotel in San Juan to take some of the latest pictures of this first class hotel.

We also would like to say THANK YOU to Darren from Warrington, UK and Mary&James from Vancouver, B.C. for emailing pictures of their first home made sangria - following our recipe in the last newsletter.

Table of contents:

  • The City of Elche - World Capital of Palm Trees

  • Famous for its beach and the train station - the city of El Campello

  • Travel and Timetable Section updated for the Alicante Bus to Benidorm and Denia

  • Updated Hotel Information on Alicante - with a special report on the Sidi Hotel in San Juan

The City of Elche - World Capital of Palm Trees

Not very well known, but such a lovely place. The city of Elche with its hundreds of thousands of palm trees, is featured in one of our latest web pages. The UNESCO World Heritage Centre put the Palmeral of Elche on its list. Make sure you visit the city during your next holidays here. It's one of the nicest cities around the Costa Blanca.

Please find the entire article with lot's of pictures here: http://www.alicante-spain.com/elche.html

Famous for its beach and the train station - the city of El Campello

The city of el campello is not much known, apart for it's sandy beach and its Tower of the Illeta. But if you traveling around the Costa Blanca by train, you almost certainly will visit it, as it hosts the main station for the famous narrow gauge railway train.

Our El Campello article here, for all of you who like the little but very nice smaller towns : http://www.alicante-spain.com/el-campello.html

Travel and Timetable Section updated for the Alicante Bus to Benidorm and Denia

For those of you who are looking for travel connections from Alicante Airport and Alicante Downtown to Benidorm, Denia and Calpe, we just updated the information on timetables.

Please find it here: http://www.alicante-spain.com/benidorm_denia.html

Updated Hotel Information on Alicante - with a special report on the Sidi Hotel in San Juan

Also updated and I really enjoyed it) was the Alicante hotel section. Especially because I had "an excuse" to visit one of the best hotels around Alicante - the Sidi in San Juan.

Please find my special report including some very nice photos here: http://www.alicante-spain.com/sidi-san-juan-hotel-alicante.html

We really hope, you will enjoy some of the articles. Especially some of the pictures of Elche should really make you look forward to your next visit to the Costa Blanca.

All the best and Muchos Saludos from San Juan, Alicante,

PS: Currently, 11 °C and rainy - a "not so" typical January Day in Alicante.
