Its a really impressive area, especially the Dunes of Guardamar - with its pine trees protecting the inland against the sand from the beach.
Simply spectacular! Worth visiting when you are south of Alicante.

Any attractions for children 11 to 15 years old open on Sunday?

The Costa Blanca is always bustling with activities, be it gastronomical with its sidewalk cafes or entertainment for the family every day of the week.

Claus and Anne were puzzled about what was open on Sundays in Spain. Arriving at a city like Alicante, or even a smaller touristy coastal area shoudn't be thought of as a problem as far as being able to get something to eat.

A nice "half-day" sightseeing tour at about 20 minutes away from Alicante you will find the city of Jijona with its famous turron museum.

On your last visit to Spain and around the Costa Blanca you may have seen the turron. The special almond sweet called turron.
