Connie, is taking a cruise leaving Miami Saturday the 12th. After crossing over they will be stopping in Alicante for a day. She wanted to know what suggestions we have for one day in Alicante (places to see, etc. ).
Yes, Thats the famous "Alicante in 1 Day" question , which I am really happy to help you out with.
Here is where you start. Have a look at ...

Katie from Manchester writes in : We will be staying in and around the
area of Denia and Javea with our team for over a period of 1 week. And
I am struggling to find less expensive hotels in the area.
I am afraid that our budget is extremely low, around 60Euros per room,
per night, inclusive of tax and breakfast. Any suggestions would be more than welcome...
Hello Katie,
One Hotel you should look at for a reasonably priced accommodation

Julia has opened the question as to where the Algar waterfalls are when approaching Guadalest?
Guadalest and the Algar waterfalls have been a gathering point for both locals and tourists coming from all over the world. But a waterfall can't be found in the middle of a town, so just tail behind me and together we'll discover .......
Hubert, what is typical about Spain ? or What would you advise us to
see when we are at the Costa Blanca ? - This in one way or another, is
one of the most common questions we get. Depending on where exactly are
you planning your stay at the Costa Blanca, the answer is always
different.
However, if there is one thing that you can ALWAYS enjoy around Spain
and especially around the Costa Blanca, than it is CHOCOLATE ! Yes,
okay you can (nearly) always enjoy the sun here, but one real fantastic
thing not so many foreigners are aware of is chocolate.
In Spain, THE leading brand for chocolate and pralines is VALOR. The
name Valor stands for over 125 years of chocolate culture in Spain. .

Les, who has a bar, wants to do a Spanish tapas night and wanted some suggestions. The most typical tapas in the bars here in Spain are the Spanish potato omellette cut into cubes, squid (calamar), octopus, muscles and 'pisto manchego'.
Everbody should be given the chance to try the most typical Spanish food - tapas! Small, scumptious bite size portions of just every imaginable ingredient, so let's get our hands into the dough so I can show you......

A few days ago we went with our daughter Anna for the first time this
year to Benidorm's best known fun park Terra Mitica. With two new
attractions introduced last year the park was even more fun than past
time.
The "Inferno" ride is lots of fun , but you should not have eaten
before ( oh man i tell you :-) ) .
The second new attraction is a
wonderful sky high viewing platform called "Infinito", which allows you
an outstanding view down to the bay of
Benidorm. Very impressive.
Circus Maximus in Benidorm
For those of you who have never been to the Terra Mitica park, it is
really lots of fun and definitely a "Must See" if you are around the
Costa Blanca on holidays. Especially if you are with kids.
The park is divided into ...

Today is the DAY. Today 30. March 2008 the alicante-spain.com website
launches a new section. The Costa Blanca Webcast is our new way of
getting in touch with you. Even more interactive , with more videos ,
photos and other new fancy modern stuff.
Above all its the area on our website, where we will answer your
questions. As we have gotten so many of them through the past years, it
was time to introduce a more interactive way of web communication.
Hundreds of hours of work behind the scene
During the past months we literally worked endless hours to set up the
webcast area, including a new web publishing system, media server and
redesign. (For those of you who are interested we tried to combine all
features of a blog with a stable media publishing system.) We did
extensive Beta testing to make sure all works well.

Arriving at your holiday lodging on a Sunday, holiday or during festive days and wanting to fill your fridge, your tummy and get things rolling does not have to be a problem.
Mary V., one of our newsletter readers was wondering about what is open on Sunday in Spain.
Let me give you a list of some places and
restaurants where you could go to ......

One of the biggest festivities in the region of Valencia are the
Fallas. (in valencian falles ). Celebrated every year around St.
Josephs day , the 19th of March, preparation for it has become an
entire years work (and business :-) ).
Huge sculptures and figures ( called ninots ) are put up in the
streets. Each neighborhood, called the group of fallers, builds his own
impressive monument. Often those sculptures make fun of local
politicians or personalities. So we went to
Gandia ...

A lot of people shy away from using public transport when arriving here in Spain. But from the Alicante airport to Benidorm there are quite good combinations by bus, train or taxi.
Let's have a look at what's going on....
Mona from Sheffield asked us not long ago, how to go from alicante
airport to benidorm in a taxi being that there was 6 of them. The taxis
that I have seen at
