Car park near Don Pancho Hotel In Benidorm?

Robert was worried about if there was a car park near or at Hotel Don pancho in Benidorm. Being as many of the hotels in Benidorm are right in the city centre, there arises the question about where you can park your car.

So when it comes to parking in a touristy area, there is no time for guess work. If staying at Don Pancho Hotel .....

Walking excursion clubs in Punta Prima Torrevieja?

Alan Donaghy is thirsting to know if there are walking excursion clubs in Punta Prima near Orihuela ( south of Torrevieja ).

I know that there are a lot of northern foreigners in this area and that Nordic walking is quickly catching on all along the Mediterranean.

Punta Prima has some great facilities, so if you are itching to get more knowledge on the facilities that can be found in and around, I can name the following:........ ... read more

Can you hire golfs clubs around Costa Blanca?

map_of_costa_blanca_golf_courses.jpg
Joy, who is interested in playing golf, has asked if you can hire golf clubs. As far as my investigations go, you can rent out golf clubs at any of the 13 golf courses around Alicante for about 30 euros. You also have the option to rent caddies or carts, too.

All of these golf courses have been designed by the best professionals in this sport so you´ll be playing on greens that have been internationally recognized as first class. Another big advantage of playing golf in and around Benidorm is that the Costa Blanca has one of the best climates, with stable temperatures and lots of .............sun all year round.

Detailed overview on golf courses around the Costa Blanca is here.

With this sport becoming so popular and easily available, not only for avid players but also for those who are starting or just wanting to “ take a swing at it “ during holidays, the Spanish are taking deep pride in making their tourism so much better. While the golfers...

Hello Keith, Parking in Alicante is a nightmare. Depending on the time of the day, it will be tough to find a good parking lot in the city center.
However there is one exception. If you go to the...

Torrevieja connecting to Alicante Airport by Bus?

Can you tell me please if there is a bus service in place yet from Alicante Airport to Torrevieja ? thre was talk of one being started last year by Costa Azul Buses. I dont know if you were aware that Alicante Airport has the dubious distinction of having the worst public service transport in Spain.
Regards, John (San Luis, Torrevieja)

Hello John,
Sorry for answering late, really busy here.
airportbus.jpg
I went to the airport yesterday (6. Mai 2008 - brought my mum to her flight back home to Germany), and checked again at the
Alicante airport tourist information and at the airport info desk.
Both times I got the same answer:

"There is NO direct Bus from Alicante Airport to Torrevieja at the moment"

You can get a bus to...

Car Hire in Spain for People with Disability ?

An English woman, Carol, was wondering if I had ever come across hire cars in the Costa Blanca area which have hand controls for disabled drivers.

Fortunately, for Carol from England, who is quite worried about wanting to hire a car for her disabled husband, more and more rent-a-car companies are reacting to the need that disabled travelers have when they not only want to rent a car but also want to be independent and drive it themselves.

Hiring cars for disabled people is not an easy task, especially when you are looking for vehicles that the disabled can drive themselves. But looking into the matter we have come across some interesting info. on ........

Ferry From Alicante to Valencia?

denia-ferry-mallorca-ibiza-1.jpg
Susan said that she needed info. on what ferry she could take from Alicante to Valencia. The question is well taken since many people visit or fly into Valencia and than plan to travel further south to Alicante.

Unfortunately, to my knowledge, there aren't any direct ferries going along the coast from Valencia to Alicante. There are only the ones going to the Baleares Islands from Denia or a nice one ( even though it's short) from Alicante and Torrevieja to Tabarca Island.

There is a wide choice of transports that can either take you from one coastal area to another along the coast or inland. Making tourist stops is a fun way to the see the country, so scout around my accumulation of ideas....

Finding a Family Friendly Hotel at the Beach

melia-hotel-alicante-2.jpg
Second part of Ron's question... The other item is I know in one of your emails you talk about some of your favorite hotels in the area do you have any ideas about a place to stay in a more local type setting  on the beach ,smaller hotel/motel  we are a family of five and enjoy the local flavor. Our three teenagers  are looking forward to beach activities as well as enjoying Alicante and the surrounding areas. Thanks for any help and again great job on the webcast and emails. Ron F.

This question about a family friendly hotel in Alicante or surroundings is a quite common one. Ron, it is really tricky for me to give any good advice on hotels around the Costa Blanca, since we obviously do not need a hotel (as we are living here). However over the past years, running this website, we do get occasionally readers to recommend a certain hotel in a city along the Costa Blanca. We have collected these tips and listed those hotel recommendations for various cities on our site.

In your case, as you planning to go to Alicante, I would recommend the... ... read more

Costa del Azahar and Castellon Area

The Costa del Azahar, is located way up north of the Costa Blanca and even further north of the city of Valencia. It's a very lovely area with plenty of cultural sights to see and visit.

The city of Castellon itself and such wonderful surrounding cities like Peniscola or Morella (picture right) has a combination...

An Excellent Restaurant in Murcia

Sybille from Dortmund asked for any good restaurants to be found in Murcia, as she will attend a seminar with her company.

We published a short article on our favorite Murcia restaurants a while ago.  I am not such a frequent Murcia visitor, but my wife goes there rather often when attending medical conferences (Gloria is a pathologist).

The short list of our favorite Murcia restaurants is here:

http://www.alicante-spain.com/murcia-restaurants.html

I think this could give you an idea and please take the restaurants list just as our personal recommendation, there are literally hundred other great restaurants and bars in Murcia for you to enjoy a great dinner or lunch.

Bus and Train Updates Alicante to Costa Blanca

alicante-streetcare-outside-melia-hotel_1.jpg
Just a quick note that I updated our web page on Public Transport to Benidorm and Denia from Alicante Airport here. With the biggest change that Alsa (spanish bus company) now runs 13 daily bus shuttle connections from Alicante Airport to Benidorm. Compared to the eight daily routes they had last summer, it is definitely an improvement.
