Where can you go scuba diving on the Costa Blanca?

Roger was curious to know where they can go scuba diving on the Costa Blanca. Every once in a while we like to ¨go off the deep end ¨and explore the magical underwater world of the Mediteranean. Do you dare to dip into warm greenish-blue waters off any Costa blanca beach ?

Roger did not specify what kind of scuba diving he did, and being as I had no idea that there were so many different kinds of scuba diving, I thought I´d include a little of each type available.

So depending on your preference, you will be able to do it in the Costa Blanca area or not.

  • Cave Exploration Diving- la Cueva del Moraig - The Moraig Cave is located between Javea and Moraira close to a little town called Benitachell. It is a small river which goes underground and as far as I could understand, you need to be a good diver.
  • Discovering Wrecks - most of the wrecks like cargo and merchant steamers, emigrant ships and cargo vessels are around the area of Villajoyosa and Calpe.
  • Deep Diving - if you are just out for cruising the Mediterranean Sea away from the coast, I have read that there are strong currents due to the differences in density because of the variation in the temperatures.
This seems to be a sport where a certain level of training is needed, so be careful with this ' refreshing' passtime.
