Can you tell me please if there is a bus service in place yet from Alicante Airport to Torrevieja ? thre was talk of one being started last year by Costa Azul Buses. I dont know if you were aware that Alicante Airport has the dubious distinction of having the worst public service transport in Spain.

Sorry for answering late, really busy here.
I went to the airport yesterday (6. Mai 2008 - brought my mum to her flight back home to Germany), and checked again at the
Alicante airport tourist information and at the airport info desk.
Both times I got the same answer:

"There is NO direct Bus from Alicante Airport to Torrevieja at the moment"

You can get a bus from the airport to downtown Alicante and go to Torrevieja using another bus (which is just a long backward and forward ride).

Or, you just get a taxi or hire a car.

Its sad that spanish public transport can't still get there acts together and provide any decent bus shuttle service from the Alicante Airport to Torrevieja.

But , who knows who's special interests this serves ( would not be bad to be a taxi driver i guess :-) .

Still shaking my head about this... let's not give up hope.
