Walking excursion clubs in Punta Prima Torrevieja?

Alan Donaghy is thirsting to know if there are walking excursion clubs in Punta Prima near Orihuela ( south of Torrevieja ).

I know that there are a lot of northern foreigners in this area and that Nordic walking is quickly catching on all along the Mediterranean.

Punta Prima has some great facilities, so if you are itching to get more knowledge on the facilities that can be found in and around, I can name the following:

➔    Water sports such as fishing and sailing
➔    Go-kart track which can located the well-known water tower.
➔    3 Golf courses around Torrevieja

but I haven´t found anything specifically making reference to walking excursion clubs. If anything is available, I would think there would be brochures at the Town Hall in Torrevieja.

What I can tell you about are the different walking routes that friends of mine have done and were quite impressed by.
·    A Bird´s Eye View – This runs along part of the old Islamic pathway that joins the Diocesan Seminary with the neighbourhood called San Isidro. From here, following the COLLADO Oriolet, you find yourself in the palm tree neighbourhood of San Anton. During this route, you´ll enjoy the sights of the old quarters with its churches and views of the mountain range called Espeñete. During this part of the excursion, which takes you along the LADERA, you can see plain of the ALUVIAL River Segura.

·    The Cross Path – This route takes you up the CIMA to the Cross of the Tooth (Cruz de la Muela- 464 m.). There are two ways you can tackle this, either from the north side starting in the area calle Montepinar, or from the south from a bar called El Piste off the national road N-340. The sights are fabulous, showing you the lower statuary of the River Segura which looks like a patchwork quilt or mosaic thanks to the way the crops are planted.

·    Along the SOTO of the River – this itinerary guides you through the groves and orchards of Orihuela by following the flow of the river. It starts in the PARAJE of Las Norias, which is on the boundary to the south with the province of Murcia.
