The Alicante Nativity Scene Museum
A Special Place For Your Christmas Visit To The Costa Blanca
The nativity scene museum or like I call it the “Alicante Christmas museum”, is certainly part of a less known side of Alicante. For most travelers and tourists, this little museum might be overlooked or simply will not fit into the typical summer Costa Blanca holiday schedule.
But to me it is one of most interesting little museums I have ever seen. Especially during the winter time, we really like to visit it. Located a bit behind the city hall, at the Calle San Agustin 3, it can be overlooked quite easily.
Just the little sign “Museo de Belenes” (Nativity Scene Museum) let’s you find the way in. On the inside you will see an amazing display of hundreds and hundreds of figures and nativity scenes. I was just impressed by the enormous amount of nativity scenes from all over the world in a little museum in Alicante. REALLY IMPRESSIVE! So please, if you ever have a chance to visit Alicante (especially during Christmas time), visit this wonderful museum.

Alicante and Nativity Scene Making has a very long tradition, founded by numerous artists over the centuries. Alicante even hosts a nativity scene monument at the Plaza de la Montaneta.
