from various places around Spain, here is a brief overview.
Coming from Barcelona to Alicante, you just follow the coastline, driving down. Make sure you have some money with you because the motorway is not free of charge. You should pay in between 40 to 50 Euros for the about 650 km. So it is a 6 to 7 hours trip by car. You will pass Valencia which is about 180 km to the north of Alicante. Make sure you plan a stay there, it is worth a visit; beautiful city. If you fly in from Barcelona at Alicante airport: As you might fly in from Barcelona into Alicante Airport, here some basic information about how to get to Alicante downtown. The airport lies 12 km south of Alicante. You can take the bus, taxi or hire a car. No train connection at the Alicante airport available, so its not as well connected as in Barcelona.
